BBM的主要材料是毛竹。毛竹(學名:Phyllostachys heterocycla (Carr.) Mitford cv. Pubescens)是禾本科、剛竹屬單軸散生型常綠喬木狀竹類植物,竿高可達20多米,粗可達20多厘米,老竿無毛,並由綠色漸變為綠黃色;壁厚約1厘米。毛竹是中國栽培悠久、面積最廣、經濟價值也最重要的竹種。其竿型粗大,宜供建築用,如樑柱、棚架、腳手架等,篾性優良,供編織各種粗細的用具及工藝品,枝梢作掃帚,嫩竹及竿籜作造紙原料。
毛竹在中國分佈自秦嶺、漢水流域至長江流域以南和台灣省,黃河流域也有多處栽培。毛竹根系集中稠密,竹稈生長快,生長量大。生長除了需要足夠的水濕條件之外,在大部分地形都可以培植生長。作為中國特產竹種,毛竹在供應量與成本上無疑相較其他聚乳酸所使用的玉米、番薯等低廉。

BBM全降解原材在耐高溫、硬度與韌性上都比現有聚乳酸原材優秀,在成品呈現上也不比傳統塑料遜色。除此之外,BBM全降解原材的成品只需要普通的土埋就可以在180天內完成降解,更加的親近自然。BBM全降解原材採用食用等級原料進行加工,降解後還原為最純正的自然元素,不會對環境造成污染,或對生態造成負擔,相反,降解後的元素還能夠作為堆肥使用,是真正的可再生天然原材,作為材料可讓國家達到可持續性發展的目標。
